After finishing a degree in Media Sudies and Irish, I had no real idea of what direction I wanted to take in the film industry - I just knew it was something I was fascinated by and that I wanted to be a part of!

The first time I was given a script to breakdown as a production intern, I pointed out one or two continuity errors in the story - back then I didn’t even know what a script supervisor was but between that, and being distracted by errors in TV shows, there were definitely early indications of where my career might take me.

One of my first jobs in film was on Vikings, working in the production office and learning so much about the world of filmmaking. Of all the people that came in and out of that office, I was so interested in the work of the script supervisors. I read their notes, watched editors cuts, read every book they recommended and took days off to sit with both Emer Conroy and Chris Roufs. They were so generous with their time when they saw my interest and my training continued from there. Over the next few years I completed a script supervision course and placement with Dave Moran, sat with six different Guild Script Supervisors and shadowed four different Editors.

What I love most about the job is the collaborative atmosphere of a film set - I get such a kick out of working closely with the Director and with different departments and seeing all our hard work coming together in front of the camera.

In the future I want to pass on what I’ve learned to others and I hope to be lucky enough to continue to to work with a wide variety of talented people within the industry.
